Welcome to St Alphege
It is a real privilege to welcome you to the Federation of St Alphege Church of England Schools. A federation that unites our Infant and Nursery School with our Junior School in the heart of Solihull.
At the heart of St Alphege is love. Rooted in our Christian faith, our vision, Let Your Love Show, shapes the education we provide, the relationships we build and the people we hope our children will become.
We live out this vision through three important commitments: Loving Community, Loving Learning and Loving Service.

Loving Community
Loving Community means creating schools where every child is known, valued and cared for. We want every child to feel that they belong at St Alphege and to know that they are an important part of our school family. Strong relationships, mutual respect and kindness are fundamental to our community, and we work closely with families, our church and the wider community to help every child flourish.
Loving Learning
Loving Learning reflects the high ambitions we have for every child. Academic excellence and exemplary behaviour are cornerstones of life at St Alphege. We believe children learn best in calm, purposeful classrooms where expectations are high, teaching is exceptional and children are encouraged to work hard, think deeply and take pride in all that they do. Alongside a rich and ambitious curriculum, we provide experiences and opportunities that broaden horizons, develop talents and inspire a genuine love of learning.
Loving Service
Loving Service reminds us that education is about more than individual success. We want our children to recognise the part they can play in the lives of others and in the world around them. Through compassion, courage, responsibility and a strong sense of justice, we aim to equip them to use their gifts well, to challenge injustice and to make a positive contribution to their communities and to the wider world. Our ambition is that children leave St Alphege not only well prepared for the next stage of their education, but also with the character and confidence to help shape a better future.
For me, great schools are built on relationships. Children thrive when they feel safe, understood and encouraged, and when school and home work together. Our dedicated staff know our children well and combine high expectations with care, encouragement and a genuine desire to see each individual succeed.
We are enormously proud of our two schools, their long history and their special place within the Solihull community. Our close relationship with St Alphege Church and our Christian foundation give us a strong sense of who we are, while our commitment to continual improvement ensures that we are always looking forward and asking how we can provide an even better education for the children we serve.
As Headteacher, one of the greatest privileges is getting to know the children, families and staff who make our community what it is. You will often find me around our schools and at the school gates, and I hope you will always feel able to come and say hello.
If you are considering St Alphege for your child, I warmly encourage you to come and visit us, see our children learning, meet our staff and experience our schools for yourself.
I look forward to welcoming you to St Alphege.
Mr Mark Carr
Executive Headteacher
